Welcome to The Rappahannock Railroad Museum!
Here at the RRM, we seek to educate the public about not only railroad
history, but the maintenance behind it as well!
Here at the RRM, we seek to educate the public about not only railroad
history, but the maintenance behind it as well!
Unfortunately, due to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak, in accordance with the CDC recommendations, the Rappahannock Railroad Museum will be closed until further notice. We hope to see everyone again soon!
We are a volunteer run organization, seeking to provide a unique glimpse into the lives, both past and present, of Railroad workers.
Come by on a Saturday morning and visit our two cabooses, baggage car, and newly opened museum buildings, which feature a host of railroadiana, as well as operating model railroad layouts of various gauges!
Our main attraction is the 'Little Yellow Train'; an open air ~45 minute ride on restored Maintenance of Way equipment, which travels roughly a mile from the Deep Run station, to the junction with the former RF&P Mainline.
Weather Permitting, take our roughly 45 minute open-air train ride, traveling approximately 1 mile from the Museum out to the RF&P mainline.
After nearly 2 years of work , our museum expansion is finally open to the public! Take a break from the weather and enjoy displays and operating layouts!
Join us today and make a difference in our community. Membership starts at just $15 a year, and helps to preserve railroad history for future generations!
Feel free to drop by the Museum during normal visiting hours.
